  • Manage development of the strategic plans, objectives and programs for the - - Freight Division based on DoT’s overall Strategic Plan

  • Manage and review the goods movement planning initiatives to fulfill the DoT strategic plan.

  • Manage the development of Abu Dhabi regional freight flows, customer markets and intermodal requirements in support of the planning initiatives and studies.

  • Manage and review the development of a long term Abu Dhabi regional goods movement plans.

  • Review the research and analysis on the regional goods movement issues

  • Manage the general functions of the Freight Planning Section that include any form of facilitation, research and benchmarking

  • Manage the development of project design, methodology, project plan and any form of recommendations for planning projects

  • Manage and ensure that field studies are analyzed and conducted and that surveys are distributed to collect primary data for planning purposes

  • Manage the preparation of research, data collection including statistics, identification of economic trends and planning reports and summaries

  • Manage the coordination with consultants to provide information required for studies to benefit the public and review work prepared by the consultants on a daily basis

  • Manage the development of methods and procedures for obtaining data and the understanding of various sampling techniques that may be used to conduct different types of surveys

  • Manage the development and usage of various econometric modeling techniques that are necessary for forecasts

  • Ensure the provision of economic advice to a range of relevant internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage the preparation of presentations and reports on issues relating to the Section’s responsibilities and deliver as required

  • Review all reports prepared by members of the Freight Planning Section and forward them for the approval of the Director – Freight

  • Develop the Section budget in coordination with the Director – Freight

  • Knowledge of Freight models

  • Knowledge of Goods movements

  • Knowledge of Supply chains and freight intermodal issues

  • Knowledge of Environmental & Regulations issues concerning freight

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent

  • A minimum of 8 – 12 years of relevant experience
