Freight Policy Specialist, Abu Dhabi

§ Develop and design of Freight policies and strategies to improve the role of Division based on DoT’s overall Strategic Plan
§ Analyze, develop, and articulate policies and regulations for economic issues in domestic and international freight transport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi;
§ Provide policy advice and recommendations on issues pertaining to regulations and freight service provisions
§ Review economy related policies for Freight service to ensure that fair play is maintained and consumers (users of the services) are protected against any malpractices;
§ Supervise coordination between Freight Policies and Freight Planning Section and Legal Division to ensure they adhere to regulatory framework of Abu Dhabi and UAE;
§ Ensure regulations for Freight Division in Abu Dhabi are developed consistent with local and federal legislations and guidelines;
§ Review existing Freight related policies and regulations;
§ Supervise sector data provided by the research and statistics staff and define inputs for Freight policy and regulation from an economy standpoint;
§ Review all reports prepared by members of the Freight Policies Section and submit them to the Section Head – Policy
§ Knowledge of Freight models
§ Knowledge of Goods movements
§ Knowledge of Supply chains and freight intermodal issues
§ Knowledge of Environmental & Regulations issues concerning freight
§ Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent
§ A minimum of 6– 9 years of relevant experience
