Financial Reporting Specialist, Abu Dhabi


Our client is a global investment company specializing in leading state of the art technology. They have invested over $8 bn into their existing manufacturing facilities.
Globally, this high-value, capital-intensive and knowledge-based industry requires exceptional financial management and it is for exactly that reason that we have been asked to identify an exceptional:

Financial Reporting Specialist
Reporting directly to the Group’s Financial Controller this individual will have the following responsiblities:


Operating within the Group Financial Reporting Framework and ensuring investee companies compliance

Documenting improving, and maintaining internal financial controls, processes and
procedures.

Resolution of financial accounting and other reporting issues as they arise.

Statutory reporting including preparation of annual audited and quarterly
reviewed financial statements in accordance with IFRS and consolidation of group entities in accordance with IFRS

Periodic reporting : facilitate interim audit on a quarterly basis

Supporting quarterly business reviews with business units

Ad hoc reports to other business units for eg. Investee companies performance etc
Liasing with External and Internal stakeholders – including statutory auditors; regulatory
authorities; investee companies; internal audit teams

Management

Maintain open communication with investee company’ accounting teams ensure their financial policies are consistent with group policies, procedures and external requirements

Promote and understand business needs to ensure customer requirements are met within control and compliance framework.

Define with relevant parties data definitions and data integrity standards and take ownership of the data warehouse for the investee companies to ensures data is available

Review, recommend and document new business processes and actively contribute to improvements and development of the financial and performance management of the unit.
Knowledge and Experience

Seasoned finance manager level (7+years experience) with a strong financial
planning and analysis background, ideally within an investment organization

Early career experience with a top tier international accounting firm will be
highly regarded

Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills A professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA etc

Job Specific Technical Skills

IFRS Expert Knowledge
Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion
Strong analytical skills and experience in translating strategic vision into an
operational model and its subsequent implementiation

Personality

An effective communicator with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels
in the organisation, strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information

Project management skills – experience of managing internal projects
Change management skills – ability to spot inefficiency and bring about effective change
